1) A time this semester that I have failed was trying to fix my phone screen. MY phone screen shattered, and I decided to fix it myself instead of paying someone to fix it. I put the screen on and realized that I already broke digitizer on it, so it was broken again. I had to replace the phone screen for the second time because I was not careful with the first replacement.
2) I have learned that I need to be way more careful when putting on the replacement screen or anything I replace on my phone.
3) Failure is definitely hard. I tend to get aggravated and mad a lot when I fail out of frustration. It can even be costly to fail. For example, I had to buy a second replacement screen because I failed to put the first one on. Yet, I have realized that failure is a good thing. Failure motivates you to do better. This class had showed me that it’s okay to fail. Before this class, I would just give up after I fail or not even try if I thought I would fail. I did this to avoid failure. Now, I’m okay with failing and I do not try to avoid it.
Hey Melanie,
ReplyDeleteI liked the example of fixing your phone as a failure. Although it is not a big one it still teaches you that even the minor of tasks has its challenges. Having failed with your phone you learned what to look for a second time and corrected itself. Although its not always going to be this easy, it teaches you to not give up and learn from this failure.
I really loved this post. Even though it's a small thing it can be the really little failures that make us question ourselves and our self worth. Also your words on failure are very true. Failure can be hard to bear but if your are willing it can teach you to be better and appreciate your successes when you have them.
